The Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Cape Town & Transfer to the Winelands
Arrive into Cape Town International Airport where you’ll collect your hire car and begin your short drive (approximately 45 minutes) into the heart of the Cape Winelands. The journey takes you through stunning mountain scenery as you leave the city behind.
Check into your hotel in either Stellenbosch or Franschhoek, two of South Africa’s most famous wine regions. Spend the afternoon settling in, perhaps enjoying your first wine tasting or a relaxed dinner overlooking the vineyards.
Day 2 – Golf in the Cape Winelands
Enjoy your first round of golf surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in South Africa. Courses in the Winelands are known for their dramatic mountain backdrops, pristine conditioning, and relaxed atmosphere.
After your round, the afternoon is yours to explore. Visit nearby wine estates for tastings, enjoy world-class cuisine, or simply relax and take in the views. This is what makes a Cape Winelands golf holiday so unique – exceptional golf paired with unforgettable off-course experiences.
Day 3 – Free Day in the Winelands
A full free day allows you to fully experience the Winelands region. You might explore Stellenbosch’s historic streets, take a guided wine tour, or visit Franschhoek, known as South Africa’s culinary capital.
For something different, consider the Franschhoek Wine Tram or a scenic drive through mountain passes. This flexibility adds a relaxed, lifestyle element to your South Africa golf tour.
Day 4 – Transfer to Fancourt Golf Resort
Today you’ll begin your journey to the Garden Route, driving approximately 4.5–5 hours to Fancourt Golf Resort near George. The drive is scenic and rewarding, passing through changing landscapes from vineyards to forests and coastline.
On arrival, check into Fancourt, South Africa’s premier golf resort. With world-class facilities, multiple restaurants, and three championship courses, this is the highlight of any Fancourt golf holiday.
Day 5 – Golf at Fancourt Montagu
Your first round at Fancourt is on the Montagu Course, widely regarded as one of the best parkland courses in South Africa. Known for its immaculate fairways and strategic layout, it offers a rewarding test for golfers of all levels.
After golf, relax at the clubhouse or enjoy the resort’s luxury amenities, including spa facilities and fine dining.
Day 6 – Golf at Fancourt Outeniqua
Today you’ll play the Outeniqua Course, offering a slightly more forgiving layout while still delivering a top-quality golfing experience. With stunning mountain views and varied hole designs, it perfectly complements Montagu.
Spend the afternoon unwinding at the resort or exploring the local area around George.
Day 7 – Golf at Fancourt Links
Finish your trip with a round on The Links at Fancourt, South Africa’s number one ranked golf course. Designed in traditional links style, it features undulating fairways, deep bunkers, and firm playing conditions.
This bucket-list round is the perfect finale to your South Africa golf holiday, offering a memorable and challenging experience.
Day 8 – Departure
After breakfast, check out and drive to George Airport to drop off your hire car before your return journey.
You’ll leave having experienced the very best of a Cape Winelands and Fancourt golf package, combining fine wine, luxury accommodation, and world-class golf.
