The Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Cape Town & Transfer to the Winelands
Arrive into Cape Town International Airport where you’ll collect your hire car and begin your journey into the Cape Winelands (approximately 45 minutes). The drive quickly transitions from city to rolling vineyards and mountain scenery.
Check into your luxury accommodation in Stellenbosch or Franschhoek. Spend the afternoon settling in, perhaps enjoying a wine tasting or a relaxed dinner overlooking the vineyards – the perfect start to your South Africa golf and wine tour.
Day 2 – Golf in the Cape Winelands
Enjoy your first round of golf surrounded by some of the most picturesque landscapes in South Africa. Winelands courses are known for their pristine conditioning, dramatic mountain backdrops, and relaxed pace of play.
After golf, explore the region’s renowned wine estates. Whether it’s cellar tours, tastings, or fine dining, the Winelands offer a unique blend of golf and lifestyle that defines a luxury golf holiday in South Africa.
Day 3 – Free Day in the Winelands
A full free day allows you to immerse yourself in the Winelands experience. Visit historic Stellenbosch, explore Franschhoek’s food scene, or take the popular wine tram between estates.
For a more relaxed day, simply unwind at your hotel and take in the scenery. This flexibility is a key part of any South Africa golf package, allowing you to tailor the experience to your pace.
Day 4 – Transfer to Hermanus (Whale Coast)
Today you’ll drive approximately 1.5–2 hours to Hermanus, one of South Africa’s most scenic coastal towns and a highlight of any Cape Town golf holiday.
Check into your hotel overlooking Walker Bay. Hermanus is world-famous for whale watching (seasonal), and you may even spot whales from the shoreline. Spend the afternoon exploring cliff paths, boutique shops, or enjoying a drink with ocean views.
Day 5 – Golf at Arabella Golf Course
Play one of South Africa’s top-ranked courses at Arabella Golf Club, located just outside Hermanus. This championship layout is a standout on any South Africa golf tour, offering immaculate fairways and stunning lagoon views.
The course provides a rewarding challenge alongside incredible scenery. After your round, return to Hermanus and enjoy a relaxed evening, perhaps dining on fresh seafood by the coast.
Day 6 – Free Day: Explore or Whale Watch
Today is yours to enjoy Hermanus and its surroundings. During whale season, this is one of the best land-based whale watching destinations in the world, making it a unique addition to your golf and wildlife holiday in South Africa.
Alternatively, explore nearby wine estates, take a coastal drive, or simply relax and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of the town.
Day 7 – Return to Cape Town or Optional Golf
Make your way back towards Cape Town, enjoying another scenic coastal drive. Depending on your preference, you may choose to include an additional round of golf or spend time exploring more of the city.
This flexibility ensures your South Africa golf holiday can be tailored to your interests, whether that’s more golf or more sightseeing.
Day 8 – Departure
After breakfast, check out and return your hire car at the airport before your departure.
You’ll leave having experienced a unique South Africa golf, wine and whale watching holiday, combining world-class golf with some of the country’s most iconic experiences.
