North Beach Resort & Villas

Myrtle Beach

average rating is 4 out of 5

North Beach Resort & Villas provides a beachfront base for golfers who want easy access to Barefoot Golf without sacrificing the wider appeal of a coastal holiday. The resort is located off-site, approximately 1.5 miles from Barefoot Resort’s four courses, so the golf is nearby rather than directly on the property.

Accommodation ranges from oceanfront rooms and one-bedroom apartments to spacious multi-bedroom condominiums, cottages and villas. Many units include full kitchens, separate living areas and washing facilities, making them especially practical for golf groups sharing accommodation. The oceanfront Towers provide elevated Atlantic views, while the resort’s cottages offer additional space and a more residential atmosphere.

The centrepiece is a 2.5-acre Caribbean-themed pool complex featuring multiple swimming pools, hot tubs, a lazy river, private cabanas and a seasonal swim-up bar. With direct access to the beach, the resort also works particularly well for couples and mixed parties whose plans extend beyond the golf course.

Cinzia Spa offers massages, treatments and wellness experiences alongside a fitness centre. Dining options include breakfast at Seaside Café, casual food and drinks beside the pool, pizza delivery and dinner at 21 Main Steakhouse and Raw Bar.

Golfers are within a short drive of Barefoot Golf’s four championship courses. The Norman layout offers generous landing areas and seven holes beside the Intracoastal Waterway, while the Love Course places greater emphasis on approach play. Fazio provides a visually impressive Lowcountry test, and the semi-private Dye Course is the most demanding of the collection.

For groups seeking championship golf alongside beachfront relaxation, self-catering flexibility and strong facilities for non-golfers, North Beach Resort & Villas is a well-rounded North Myrtle Beach option.

About The Area

Myrtle Beach is one of America’s big-name golf holiday destinations, and for good reason. Sitting on South Carolina’s Grand Strand, it combines beach resorts, lively nightlife, restaurants, shopping, family attractions and a huge choice of golf. Visit Myrtle Beach says the wider area has 80+ championship golf courses, while its main visitor site promotes 90+ championship courses, so the exact count depends on how widely the Grand Strand is defined — either way, golfers are spoilt for choice.

The golf variety is the main selling point. The Dunes Golf & Beach Club is one of the classic Myrtle Beach names, with a Robert Trent Jones-designed championship course and PGA TOUR hosting pedigree. Tidewater Golf Club gives golfers a scenic coastal round between the Intracoastal Waterway and Cherry Grove Inlet, while Barefoot Resort & Golf offers four championship courses designed by Greg Norman, Davis Love III, Tom Fazio and Pete Dye.

Away from golf, Myrtle Beach is a proper holiday destination rather than just a golf base. The wider Grand Strand has around 60 miles of sandy beaches, with boardwalk attractions, seafood restaurants, waterparks, family entertainment, nightlife and coastal towns nearby. That makes it a strong choice for groups where not everyone wants to play every day.

For Hashtag Golf Travel customers, Myrtle Beach works best as a longer USA golf holiday, a group trip, or a multi-course itinerary with plenty of beach and nightlife built in. It is not a quick hop like Spain or Portugal, but for UK golfers wanting an iconic American golf destination with serious course choice, Myrtle Beach is right up there.
