Ljunghusens Golf Club
Höllviken
Ljunghusens Golf Club is one of Sweden’s most distinctive coastal golf experiences, set on the Falsterbo Peninsula in Skåne, just south of Malmö. Founded in 1932, it is one of Sweden’s oldest golf clubs and was the first in the country to offer 27 holes, giving travelling golfers plenty of variety during a southern Sweden golf holiday.
The course has a genuine seaside character, sitting within a nature reserve close to the Baltic Sea’s white sandy beaches. Visit Skåne describes Ljunghusen as a 27-hole links seaside course played across sand dunes, with many holes just metres from the beach. That coastal setting gives the golf real personality, with firm ground, heather, bunkers, exposed winds and natural terrain all shaping the challenge.
For golfers who enjoy traditional links-style golf, Ljunghusen is a brilliant addition to a Sweden itinerary. It is strategic rather than showy, asking for smart club selection, controlled ball flight and patience when the Baltic breeze gets involved. The 27-hole layout also makes it ideal for groups who want more than one round without repeating the same experience.
Ljunghusen pairs beautifully with other leading courses around Skåne, Malmö and the Öresund region, while Copenhagen and Malmö add easy flight access, restaurants, hotels and city-break appeal. Hashtag Golf Travel can help build it into a smooth Scandinavian golf holiday with flights, transfers, accommodation and tee times planned properly.

About The Area
Höllviken sits on Sweden’s south-west coast, between Malmö and the Falsterbo Peninsula, and is a brilliant base for golfers who want proper links golf, beach scenery and easy access to southern Sweden’s best courses. It is quieter than Malmö, but close enough for city restaurants, flights and Copenhagen connections, which makes it a very practical golf holiday base.
The big golfing appeal is the concentration of outstanding coastal courses nearby. Ljunghusens Golfklubb is located in Höllviken itself and offers a 27-hole links/heathland layout, with flat terrain but enough technical difficulty to challenge stronger golfers. Just down the peninsula, Falsterbo Golfklubb is one of continental Europe’s great classic links courses, set at the far south-west tip of Sweden where the Öresund and Baltic meet. Wind is a major part of the test, so golfers need control, patience and proper shot-making rather than just distance. Flommens Golfklubb completes the local trio, describing the stretch of Falsterbo, Ljunghusen and Flommen as a “golfing heaven”, with all three regularly rated among Sweden’s best.
Golf around Höllviken is best from May to September, when daylight is long, the weather is milder and the coastal courses are in peak condition.
Off the course, the area is wonderfully easy-going. Höllviken, Skanör and Falsterbo are known for white sandy beaches, colourful bathing huts, shallow clear water and a relaxed summer feel. Malmö is close for food, culture and nightlife, while Copenhagen is an easy extension via the Öresund Bridge.
For golfers seeking authentic Scandinavian links, beachside calm and superb course variety within a small area, Höllviken is one of southern Sweden’s strongest and most enjoyable golf bases.
