Barsebäck Resort is an accommodation-led golf retreat overlooking the Öresund in southern Sweden. Its combination of Scandinavian-style hotel rooms, spacious villas and two on-site courses makes it particularly well suited to couples, golf groups and longer multi-round stays.
The recently renovated hotel offers Standard and Deluxe Double Rooms. Both have twin beds and bright, understated interiors, while the individually designed Deluxe rooms add higher ceilings and more distinctive decorative details. Groups wanting greater independence can choose one of the resort’s renovated villas. These feature generous communal areas and fully equipped kitchens, giving guests somewhere to relax together away from the clubhouse. Smaller villas accommodate up to four people, while additional villa options are available for larger parties. An evening shuttle operates between the accommodation and restaurant, removing the need to drive after dinner.
Brasserie Barsebäck, located in the Legends House, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a setting overlooking the Öresund. Golf packages can combine accommodation with breakfast, a three-course evening meal and rounds on both resort courses.
The par-73 Ocean Course is the headline attraction, moving between woodland, parkland and exposed seaside holes. The par-71 Pine Course offers a contrasting journey through established pine trees and rolling Scanian countryside. Together, they provide 36 holes without requiring guests to leave the resort.
Away from golf, facilities include a gym, yoga room, padel courts and indoor TrackMan golf. Guests can also use the outdoor swimming pool during its operating season. Nearby Järavallen Nature Reserve offers trails through woodland and along the coast, with mountain bikes available to hire.
Copenhagen Airport is the most practical international gateway for many UK golfers. The journey crosses the Öresund Bridge into Sweden, while Malmö Airport provides a useful alternative.

Hofterup is a quiet locality in western Skåne, positioned between Malmö, Lund and the Öresund coast. It is not a big resort town, but for golfers it has serious value because it sits right beside one of Sweden’s best-known golf venues, while still offering easy access to beaches, nature reserves and city life. Hofterup is in Kävlinge Municipality, Skåne County, and is closely linked with Barsebäck’s coastal golf scene.
The main draw is Barsebäck Resort, a major Swedish golf facility established in 1969 with accommodation, food, activities and views over the Öresund. The resort offers 36 holes, including 18 holes of true championship class, plus PGA-certified professionals, a Performance Centre and indoor golf facilities.
