About The Area

Kutná Hora is one of Czechia’s most atmospheric golf bases, combining historic streets, Gothic architecture and easy access to countryside courses within reach of Prague. Once a wealthy silver-mining town, Kutná Hora’s historic centre, including the Church of St Barbara and the Church of Our Lady at Sedlec, is recognised by UNESCO as an outstanding example of a medieval town shaped by silver mining wealth.

The most premium nearby golf venue is Casa Serena Chateau and Golf Resort, located near Kutná Hora in Central Bohemia, around 53km from Prague. Its course is an 18-hole, par-71 layout measuring 6,364 metres, and the resort notes that it has hosted European Senior Tour events. It is a high-end, selective venue, so access should be checked before packaging it for clients.

For a more accessible round, Golf Club Molitorov near Kouřim is a useful option in the wider Kutná Hora area. Visit Czechia describes it as an 18-hole course spread over 60 hectares, partly routed through orchards, with a quiet countryside setting close to Prague. The club itself notes that the first nine holes run through a cherry orchard, while the second nine sits on a flatter open plain with longer holes and landing-area hazards.

Golf around Kutná Hora is best from April to October, with May to September usually offering the most comfortable weather and longer daylight.

Off the course, Kutná Hora is brilliant for culture-led travel. St Barbara’s Cathedral is the town’s symbol, while Sedlec Ossuary, the Italian Court and the old silver-mining heritage give the destination real depth. Visit Czechia describes Kutná Hora as the “city of silver” and notes its UNESCO status since 1995.

For golfers seeking scenic Czech countryside, historic sightseeing and easy Prague access, Kutná Hora is a charming and very useful Central Bohemian golf base.
