La Manga Club is one of Spain’s most established golf and sports resorts, offering three contrasting 18-hole courses in the sun-drenched Region of Murcia. Set between the Mediterranean Sea and the hills of Calblanque Regional Park, the resort is an excellent choice for golf groups seeking several varied rounds, extensive practice facilities and plenty to enjoy away from the fairways.

The South Course is the resort’s flagship championship layout. Playing to a par of 73 and measuring 6,499 metres from the back tees, it features wide fairways, 15 water hazards and a strong mixture of long and short holes. It has hosted several Spanish Opens and professional qualifying events, with the opening nine demanding particularly accurate driving between lakes and bunkers.

The North Course provides a shorter and more approachable challenge. Designed by Robert Dean Putman, this par-71 layout winds among palm trees, lakes and natural gullies known locally as barrancos. Its tighter fairways and large, sloping greens still reward careful course management, but it is a good choice for mixed-handicap groups or an opening round at the resort.

Designed by Dave Thomas, the West Course offers a completely different experience. Set within dense pine forest near Calblanque Regional Park, it features narrow playing corridors, frequent elevation changes and demanding shots across natural ravines. It is arguably the most visually dramatic of the three and provides a proper test for confident golfers.

La Manga Club also has a dedicated golf academy and practice centre, while the wider resort offers the five-star Grand Hyatt La Manga Club Golf & Spa, numerous restaurants, swimming pools, tennis and padel facilities. After golf, guests can relax at the spa, visit the resort’s beach club or explore nearby Cartagena, known for its Roman heritage, marina and atmospheric old town.
