Golf Bluegreen Saint-Laurent is a fantastic choice for golfers looking to experience the peaceful landscapes of southern Brittany. Located at Ploemel, around 20 minutes from Carnac, the club offers 27 holes surrounded by mature oak and pine forest, creating a wonderfully established feel and a very different challenge from the more open coastal courses found elsewhere in France.

The golf is divided between two layouts: the 18-hole Parcours des Pins and the nine-hole Parcours des Menhirs. Having both available gives you plenty of flexibility during a longer stay, whether you want a full championship round or an additional nine later in the day.

The Parcours des Pins is the main attraction and works its way through the woodland surrounding the club. Accuracy and good positioning are important throughout the round, with the mature trees helping to define the fairways and influence the best route towards the greens. There are opportunities to use the driver, but this is the sort of course where keeping the ball in play can be considerably more valuable than chasing another few metres from the tee.

We particularly like this style of golf because it encourages you to use different clubs and think about the next shot rather than simply attacking every hole in the same way. The wooded surroundings also give individual holes a peaceful, secluded atmosphere, adding to the feeling that you are playing proper countryside golf.

The Parcours des Menhirs provides another nine holes and is suitable for both experienced golfers and those still developing their game. It is particularly useful for an extra round during a golf break, a more relaxed afternoon or some additional course practice without committing to another full 18 holes.

Practice facilities are a major strength at Saint-Laurent. The driving range features Toptracer technology across eight bays, allowing you to track distances, ball speed and other shot information while practising. There is also a dedicated synthetic training area, professional tuition from qualified coaches and a well-stocked Pro Shop covering equipment, clothing and accessories.
The clubhouse restaurant provides a convenient place for lunch and a post-round drink, while Hôtel du Golf de Saint-Laurent is only a short walk away if you want to turn the golf into an easy stay-and-play break.
