About The Area
Vannes is a superb choice for a Brittany golf holiday, especially for golfers who want historic streets, harbour views and easy access to the beautiful Gulf of Morbihan. Set in southern Brittany, Vannes gives you a lovely mix of medieval charm, coastal scenery, seafood restaurants and relaxed French atmosphere, so it works brilliantly for a golf break that feels more like a proper holiday.
For golf, our main recommendation is Golf Bluegreen Baden, set beside the Auray River in the Gulf of Morbihan Regional Natural Park. It is a varied course with plenty of scenery, making it a great fit for visiting golfers who want a round that feels connected to the landscape. We would also look at Golf Bluegreen Rhuys-Kerver, an 18-hole course on the Rhuys Peninsula, around 15 km from central Vannes, giving groups another strong local option.
Away from the course, Vannes is brilliant for exploring. We would suggest walking the old town and ramparts, spending time around the port, taking a boat trip into the Gulf of Morbihan, or heading out towards Belle-Île, Quiberon or the nearby islands. The Gulf itself is known for its island-dotted scenery and gentle southern Brittany lifestyle.
Our tip: choose Vannes if your group wants a French golf holiday with scenic golf, Breton food, harbour evenings and plenty of coastal exploring.
