Club Campestre de Golf Manizales, now presented as Club Manizales, is an 18-hole course in Colombia’s Coffee Region. Located on the road between Manizales and Chinchiná, the course occupies a lush valley setting surrounded by tropical vegetation, rolling hills and distant mountain scenery. Its lower elevation gives the venue a warmer climate than central Manizales, allowing comfortable golf throughout much of the year.

The current course was designed by Howard Watson and Bob Mote and opened in 1978. Playing to a par of 72 and measuring around 6,700 yards from the longest tees, it is a traditional parkland layout shaped by gentle slopes, natural obstacles and the varied terrain of Colombia’s coffee-growing landscape.

Golfers will find a balanced scorecard featuring four par threes, ten par fours and four par fives. The fairways move across undulating ground, producing changing lies and approaches played from different heights. Water, mature vegetation and smaller, carefully protected greens place greater value on accuracy and thoughtful course management than outright power.

The course sits at roughly 1,250 metres above sea level. The thinner air can help well-struck shots travel slightly farther than they would at sea level, although the effect is less dramatic than on Bogotá’s much higher courses. Warm temperatures, humidity and regular rainfall can also influence playing conditions, so morning tee times are often the best choice.

Practice facilities include a putting green and a dedicated long-game practice area. The wider country club also provides dining and social spaces, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, ten clay tennis courts, football facilities and other leisure activities. Club Manizales is private, so visitor access and tee times should be arranged before travelling.
