Cougar Point Golf Course
Kiawah Island
Located on Kiawah Island just outside Charleston, Cougar Point Golf Course offers a scenic and accessible introduction to one of the USA’s most renowned golf destinations. Originally designed by Gary Player and later redesigned by Tom Fazio, the course blends classic design with modern playability in a stunning coastal setting.
The 18-hole course stretches to just over 6,800 yards and features a mix of parkland and coastal marshland holes. The front nine winds through tree-lined fairways with a more traditional feel, while the back nine opens out towards the marshes, offering wide views and a more exposed, links-style experience.
Water hazards, lagoons and strategically placed bunkers come into play throughout the round, requiring careful shot selection without making the course overly punishing. It’s known for being one of the more playable courses on Kiawah Island, making it ideal for a wide range of golfers while still delivering a high-quality experience.
What really sets Cougar Point apart is the setting. The coastal marsh views, wildlife and natural landscape create a memorable round that feels distinctly Lowcountry. Combined with the world-class facilities of Kiawah Island, it’s a fantastic addition to any golf trip in the region.
