Grand Sappaya Hotel is a great choice for golfers who want the convenience of staying directly on a golf course while still being within easy reach of Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi International Airport. This 18-hole championship course was originally designed by Gary Player and combines generous stretches of fairway with strategic water hazards, well-protected greens and plenty of decisions from the tee. It is an enjoyable resort-style course, but there is enough water and thoughtful positioning to punish mistakes if you become too aggressive.

We particularly like the simplicity of staying here. You can wake up overlooking the course, head out for your round without a lengthy transfer and return to the hotel afterwards for a swim or some downtime. Golfers wanting a little extra practice can also make use of the driving range and short-game facilities, while the golf complex includes a Pro Shop and clubhouse facilities.

After your round, the Japanese-style onsen is a welcome addition and gives you somewhere to properly relax before dinner. There is also an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by the golf course landscape, making it easy to slow things down between rounds.

Dining is centred around the Lotus Leaf Restaurant in the clubhouse, overlooking the 18th hole. The menu covers Thai and wider Asian flavours alongside international dishes, giving groups plenty of choice without needing to leave the resort after golf.

Location is another big advantage. Suvarnabhumi International Airport is roughly an hour away, while central Bangkok can be reached in around 90 minutes. That makes Grand Sappaya particularly useful for golfers who want to add quality golf without committing to another internal flight or long transfer.
