Club de Golf El Plantío is a peaceful golf resort on the outskirts of Alicante, positioned between the city and Alicante–Elche Miguel Hernández Airport. Instead, its challenge comes from finding the right sections of the fairways and avoiding the vegetation that separates many of the holes. Large palms, pines and other trees can block approaches after an inaccurate drive, while strategically placed bunkers protect several raised and sloping greens.

The closing stretch provides some of the strongest tests. The 15th is a 515-metre par five from the longest tees, followed by two par fours before the round finishes with a 184-metre par three. The 17th is rated as the hardest hole on the scorecard and demands accuracy before golfers face that unusual short-hole finish.

Alongside the championship course, El Plantío has a separate nine-hole, par-27 course. Its varied short holes make it suitable for beginners, families and experienced golfers looking to sharpen their approach play. The main practice range measures approximately 350 metres long and more than 100 metres wide, with 50 hitting bays and the opportunity to practise from natural grass.
