Praia D'El Rey Marriott Golf & Beach Resort is one of our favourite bases for a golf holiday on Portugal’s Silver Coast, combining championship golf with a fantastic beachfront setting overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Its dramatic coastal design provides a completely different challenge, meaning you can combine two outstanding courses without spending hours travelling between rounds. For us, that makes Praia D’El Rey particularly well suited to a multi-round Portugal golf holiday.

When the clubs are away, the resort has plenty to keep you occupied. The Kalyan Spa offers treatments alongside a hydrothermal circuit, sauna, Turkish bath and relaxation areas, while there are both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. A 24-hour fitness centre is also available for anyone wanting to stay active between rounds.

Dining gives you several options without needing to leave the resort. Tempera offers buffet dining and live cooking stations, while Emprata focuses on Italian-inspired dishes including wood-fired cooking. Oceano Sports Bar is ideal for a relaxed post-round drink, particularly with its panoramic Atlantic views.

The medieval town of Óbidos is also nearby and is well worth exploring during a day away from golf, while the coastline offers beaches, cycling and water sports.
