Golfbaan Delfland
The Hague
Located in Schipluiden, between Rotterdam and The Hague, Golfbaan Delfland is one of the most accessible and flexible golf venues in South Holland. It is widely listed as the Netherlands’ largest Pay & Play golf course, making it a useful option for visiting golfers, mixed-ability groups and city-based golf breaks.
The venue features a 27-hole Championship Course plus a 9-hole par-3 Challenge Course, giving golfers plenty of variety across one visit. The main course is generally flat and open, as you’d expect in this part of the Netherlands, but water hazards, bunkering and shaped greens add enough strategy to keep the round interesting.
Delfland is less about exclusive private-club atmosphere and more about convenience, flexibility and easy access. Facilities are strong, with a floodlit driving range, practice greens, golf academy, golf shop, club fitting studio, clubhouse and brasserie with terrace.
For Netherlands golf holidays, Golfbaan Delfland works especially well as part of a Rotterdam, The Hague or Delft-based itinerary. It is ideal for arrival-day golf, relaxed group rounds or travellers who want accessible golf without long transfers.

About The Area
The Hague is one of the Netherlands’ best city-and-coast golf bases, combining refined culture, North Sea beaches and access to some of the country’s strongest courses. It feels more relaxed than Amsterdam but still offers brilliant restaurants, museums, shopping and seaside atmosphere, making it a smart choice for golfers who want more than just the round.
The standout nearby venue is Koninklijke Haagsche Golf & Country Club, often known as Royal Hague, located in the dunes at Wassenaar. Founded in 1893, it is the oldest golf club in the Netherlands and sits among natural dune terrain, giving it a classic Dutch links-style feel. The course is widely regarded as one of the country’s finest, with firm fairways, elevation changes, heather, dunes and wind all shaping the challenge.
Closer to the city, Haagse Golfvereniging Leeuwenbergh offers an 18-hole course with good practice facilities, including a covered and illuminated driving range, short-game areas and putting greens. It gives golfers a more accessible local option while still providing a proper test.
Golf around The Hague is best from April to October, with late spring through early autumn giving the most reliable weather and longer daylight. Coastal winds can play a big part, especially on dune and seaside layouts, so controlled ball flight and course management matter.
Off the course, The Hague is excellent. The city is home to the Mauritshuis, the Binnenhof area and easy access to Scheveningen Beach, giving you art, history and beach life in one trip. The Mauritshuis also positions The Hague as a strong day-trip city with shopping, terraces, nature and culture all close together.
For golfers seeking elite Dutch golf, coastal scenery and a polished city-break feel, The Hague is one of the Netherlands’ most complete and enjoyable golf destinations.
