Bogogno Golf Club
Province of Novara
Bogogno Golf Club offers two Robert von Hagge-designed championship courses in the Piedmont countryside between Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta. With 36 holes on site and Milan Malpensa Airport less than half an hour away, it is particularly well suited to weekend golf breaks and longer northern Italian itineraries.
The par-72 Bonora Course has a parkland character and extends to 6,488 metres from the professional tees. Its routing moves through rolling, largely unspoilt countryside, where streams, woodland and natural elevation changes influence strategy. Accurate positioning is important, particularly where fairways narrow between trees or water affects the preferred line into the green.
The par-72 Del Conte Course provides a distinctly different experience. More open and links-inspired in appearance, it incorporates flatter sections, large lakes, long bunkers and areas of dense rough. The peaks of Monte Rosa form an impressive backdrop, while exposed ground can bring the wind into play. Extending to 6,485 metres from the professional tees, Del Conte has also been used for European Tour Qualifying School and international amateur events.
Six sets of tees across the courses allow golfers to select an appropriate challenge. The contrast between Bonora’s wooded, undulating terrain and Del Conte’s broader, more open landscape makes a round on each the natural choice during a stay.
Practice facilities are extensive and include two driving-range areas, dedicated pitching, chipping and bunker zones and a 36-hole putting green. The Bogogno Golf Academy provides on-range and playing lessons, swing analysis and specialist clinics, while the Callaway fitting centre and regularly renewed rental sets are useful for golfers travelling without clubs.
The clubhouse contains a professional shop, bar, restaurant and terrace overlooking both courses and Monte Rosa. An on-site hotel, spa, fitness centre and outdoor pool allow Bogogno to operate as a self-contained golf resort, while Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta and the local wine region offer plenty away from the fairways.

About The Area
The Province of Novara is a superb choice for golfers who want an Italy golf holiday with championship courses, lake scenery and easy access from Milan. Set in Piedmont, close to Lake Maggiore and Milan Malpensa Airport, it works brilliantly for UK golfers who want a smooth arrival and a trip that combines serious golf with relaxed Italian exploring.
The golf is the main draw. Bogogno Golf Resort is one of Europe’s most impressive 36-hole golf resorts, with two Robert von Hagge-designed courses, Del Conte and Bonora, giving golfers plenty of variety in one place. Visit Piemonte describes it as having everything a golfer could need, making it a strong base for a multi-round break.
Nearby Golf Club Castelconturbia adds another outstanding option. Its modern 27-hole layout was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr and sits across more than one million square metres of countryside, with mature trees, streams, lakes and views towards Monte Rosa. Together, Bogogno and Castelconturbia create one of northern Italy’s strongest golf clusters.
Away from the fairways, the Province of Novara is ideal for slow Italian holiday days. Lake Maggiore is close by for boat trips, lakeside towns and mountain views, while the wider area offers food, wine, countryside villages and easy links towards Milan, Lake Orta and the Alps. Lake Maggiore’s official tourism gateway promotes the area for destinations, events, activities and year-round itineraries.
For UK golfers, the Province of Novara is perfect for a tailor-made Italy golf break, whether you want a dedicated golf resort stay or a wider Italian Lakes itinerary. Hashtag Golf Travel can help plan the right courses, hotels, transfers and route.
