About The Area
Cerritos is a relaxed base for a golf holiday in Colombia’s Coffee Region, combining tropical parkland golf with countryside hotels, warm weather and easy access to Pereira. Situated on the western side of the city, the area feels quieter and greener than central Pereira while remaining conveniently placed for Matecaña International Airport.
The main attraction is Club Campestre de Pereira, located just beyond Cerritos on the road towards Cartago. Its 18-hole, par-71 course moves through gently rolling terrain filled with mature trees, lakes and lush vegetation. Water hazards and well-protected greens encourage careful course management, while the changing elevations create an enjoyable challenge for different standards of golfer.
Practice facilities include an illuminated driving range, a large putting green and a shorter nine-hole course. As Club Campestre de Pereira is a member-focused venue, we recommend arranging visitor access, tee times, caddies and equipment hire before travelling.
Away from golf, Cerritos has restaurants, rural accommodation and attractions including Bioparque Ukumarí, one of the Coffee Region’s leading wildlife parks. The area is also known for its roadside food stops, particularly traditional arepas de chócolo served with cheese.
Longer stays can include coffee-farm tours, the colourful towns of Salento and Filandia, or the hot springs at Santa Rosa de Cabal. Pereira’s central location makes Cerritos a practical starting point for exploring the wider Coffee Region without changing hotels after every round.
We see Cerritos working particularly well for a tailor-made golf-and-nature holiday, combining pre-arranged private-club golf with coffee experiences, regional food and Colombia’s beautiful green landscapes.
