Saint-Malo Golf Resort is a fantastic choice for golfers looking for a peaceful stay-and-play break in Brittany. Set within a 100-hectare estate at Le Tronchet, the four-star resort combines comfortable accommodation, 27 holes of golf and views across Lac de Mirloup, while the historic walled city of Saint-Malo and some of northern Brittany’s best-known attractions are within easy reach.

The hotel has just 29 rooms, giving it a much more relaxed and personal feel than a large golf resort. Standard double and twin rooms measure around 27m² and overlook either the golf course or Mirloup lake, with a private terrace or balcony. Larger 33m² duplex-style rooms and family accommodation sleeping up to four guests provide extra space for groups or longer stays. Air conditioning and Wi-Fi are available throughout the hotel.

Golf is naturally the biggest reason to stay. The resort offers two courses designed by Hubert Chesneau, the architect behind Le Golf National. The main Surcouf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 layout measuring 6,101 metres, winding through Breton countryside around Lac de Mirloup. Lakes, granite, mature trees and bunkers create a varied challenge, while the shorter nine-hole Old Course provides another option for an additional round or a more relaxed game.

We particularly like the convenience of staying directly beside the golf. You can enjoy breakfast and head straight to your tee time, while the resort also has practice facilities and a dedicated Training Centre for golfers wanting to work on their game. Hotel residents receive preferential golf rates, making it easy to build several rounds into a longer stay.

Away from golf, there is an outdoor swimming pool, fitness room and bicycle hire, while the resort expanded its wellness offering in 2026 with treatments, massages and small-group wellbeing sessions aimed at relaxation and post-golf recovery.

Dining is centred around Virgule Restaurant, where you can enjoy everything from a relaxed lunchtime brasserie menu to evening dining, with panoramic views towards the course and lake. The sunny terrace is a particularly nice place for a post-round drink during the warmer months.

Saint-Malo, Dinan and Mont-Saint-Michel can all be incorporated into a longer trip, making the resort an excellent base for experiencing both golf and Brittany.
