The Splendid Hotel & Spa has a fantastic location in Nice city centre. The hotel features 128 rooms and suites decorated in a refined style and with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel is undergoing a renovation program, with the rooms on the fifth floor having being upgraded recently and a further three floors due to be renovated during the winter of 2016-2017. The hotel Spa is a haven of peace in an atmosphere of luxury and serenity and is the ideal place to unwind. As well as treatment rooms, the spa also boasts a hammam, an indoor hot tub, a relaxation room and a fitness corner complete with bike, treadmill and water grinder. Residents can also enjoy a leisurely swim in the large outdoor swimming pool. The recently renovated L’EssenCiel Restaurant & Bar is located on the 8th floor of the hotel and affords spectacular panoramic views of the Promenade des Anglais, Alpine peaks and the upper part of the town of Nice from its large bay windows and its terraces. The restaurant serves a variety of delicious dishes made with only the freshest produce and the bar serves a wide range of refreshing beverages, including traditional and contemporary cocktails.

Tiverton is a strong choice for a Devon golf holiday if your group wants countryside golf, heritage, canalside walks and easy access to wider Devon. It is a practical base without feeling too busy, making it ideal for golfers who prefer a relaxed town with plenty nearby rather than a full resort setting.
The main golf recommendation is Tiverton Golf Club, an 18-hole parkland course originally designed by James Braid. The club describes it as one of Devon’s finest parkland layouts, with tree-lined fairways, smooth greens and a course that rewards accurate golf. The clubhouse also looks out across the course towards the Blackdown Hills, which gives it a lovely post-round setting for food and drinks.
Away from golf, Tiverton has more to offer than many golfers might expect. The Grand Western Canal is a brilliant recommendation, with horse-drawn barge trips, cafés, boat hire and more than 11 miles of flat towpath for walking or cycling. It is a nice gentle option after 18 holes.
We would also suggest Knightshayes, a National Trust property with Gothic Revival architecture, gardens and parkland, or a visit to Tiverton Castle for a bit of local history.
