About The Area
Pärnu is Estonia’s classic summer resort city, sitting on the country’s west coast beside Pärnu Bay. Known locally as Estonia’s “summer capital”, it combines long sandy beaches, spa hotels, cafés and a relaxed seaside feel with one of the strongest golf offerings in the Baltics. Visit Estonia highlights Pärnu’s beach and promenade as key parts of the city’s appeal, making it a natural fit for golfers who want coastal golf with easy post-round relaxation.
The standout venue is Pärnu Bay Golf Links, located around 10 minutes outside the city. It is described by Visit Estonia and the club itself as the first links-type course in the Baltic countries, set on sandy coastal land with fescue grasses, wide fairways, expansive sand areas and bold, multi-level greens. The course was designed by Finnish architect Lassi Pekka Tilander and plays as a par-72 from around 4,500 to 6,200 metres, with a 5-hole par-3 course and practice facilities also available.
For extra variety, White Beach Golf near Valgerand is another strong Pärnu County option. It was the first 18-hole golf course in the county, designed by Kosti Kuronen, with the Audru River, artificial lakes and dune-like views shaping the round.
Golf in Pärnu is best from May to September, when Estonia’s long daylight hours and warmer coastal weather make evening rounds especially appealing. Off the course, Pärnu is made for gentle seaside days: beach walks, spa treatments, summer cafés, cycling and relaxed restaurants all sit close together.
For golfers seeking Baltic links golf, a proper seaside atmosphere and a calmer alternative to busier European golf resorts, Pärnu is one of Estonia’s strongest and most enjoyable golf escapes.
