Club Pueblo Viejo, officially known as Pueblo Viejo Country Club, is a prestigious golf and sports club in Cota, on the north-western edge of Bogotá. Located at kilometre seven of the Suba–Cota road, the course sits beneath Cerro del Majuy and is surrounded by attractive countryside, gardens and distant Andean scenery.
The main 18-hole course plays to a par of 72 and stretches beyond 7,400 yards from its longest tees, making it one of Colombia’s longer golf courses. The layout offers holes with varying levels of difficulty, giving stronger golfers a substantial championship test while providing more manageable options from the forward tees.
Length is only part of the challenge. Golfers must also negotiate mature trees, bunkers, water features and carefully positioned greens. The spacious natural setting creates room on selected holes, but good course management remains important, particularly when choosing whether to attack from the tee or play towards the safer side of the fairway.
The club’s championship credentials were underlined when Pueblo Viejo hosted the 77th Colombian Open in July 2025. The tournament brought leading professionals and amateurs to the course, demonstrating its ability to provide a demanding test for elite players.
Alongside the main course, Pueblo Viejo has a nine-hole par-three layout that is ideal for beginners, families and golfers working on their short game. Practice facilities include a putting green and a modern driving range with a cross bunker, chipping area and dedicated coaching space.
The wider country club offers an extensive collection of leisure facilities, including restaurants, swimming, tennis, squash, bowling, a gym, football and equestrian activities. This makes Pueblo Viejo particularly suitable for mixed golf and leisure groups, although visiting golfers should confirm access and tee-time arrangements before travelling.

Bogotá’s altitude adds another interesting dimension to each round, with the thinner air often helping well-struck shots travel farther than expected. We recommend allowing time to adjust before playing and packing layers, waterproofs and sun protection—the city can produce several seasons in one afternoon.
Away from golf, La Candelaria’s colourful colonial streets lead towards Plaza de Bolívar, the Gold Museum and the Botero Museum. A cable-car or funicular journey to Monserrate provides panoramic views across the capital, while neighbourhoods such as Chapinero and Usaquén offer excellent restaurants, cafés and shopping.
