Silverado Resort Golf Courses
Napa
Set among the rolling hills and vineyards of Napa Valley, California, Silverado Resort offers 36 holes of championship golf across its North and South Courses. Both par-72 layouts were designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. and later enhanced by World Golf Hall of Famer Johnny Miller, creating two contrasting courses framed by mature oak trees, water hazards and the distinctive landscape of California wine country.
The North Course provides the more demanding of Silverado’s two layouts. The resort’s everyday scorecard measures 6,793 yards, with a rating of 72.6 and slope of 133. Tree-lined fairways, strategically positioned bunkers, water crossings and changes in elevation place an emphasis on accurate driving and thoughtful approach play. Although experienced golfers will find plenty of challenge, several tee options make the course accessible to a broad range of abilities.
The North Course also carries considerable PGA TOUR pedigree. Silverado hosted TOUR events from 1968 to 1980 and again annually from 2014 through 2025, with recent winners including Max Homa, Sahith Theegala and Scottie Scheffler. Tournament set-ups extend the course beyond its normal resort yardage; for the 2025 Procore Championship it played to 7,138 yards. Professional golf is due to return in 2027, when Silverado’s North Course will host the new Sompo Championship.
The South Course offers a slightly more relaxed but still rewarding alternative. Measuring 6,685 yards with a par of 72, rating of 72.6 and slope of 131, it winds through the same mature Napa Valley landscape but generally provides a more forgiving experience. Strategic bunkering, large oak trees and water still influence shot selection, ensuring the course offers enough interest for experienced golfers while working particularly well as a second round during a longer stay.
Practice facilities include a driving range, dedicated putting green and chipping area, while Silverado’s PGA and LPGA instruction team offers private lessons, group coaching and junior programmes. Club rental, fitting and shipping services are also available.
Access to both courses is exclusive to registered Silverado Resort guests and club members, helping retain the feel of a genuine resort-golf experience.
With two contrasting Robert Trent Jones Jr. layouts, PGA TOUR history and a beautiful Napa Valley setting, Silverado Resort Golf Courses are an excellent choice for a California golf holiday, combining championship golf with one of America's most celebrated food and wine destinations.
