W Verbier
Verbier
Set at the foot of the slopes in Place Blanche, just metres from the Médran gondola, W Verbier is one of the resort’s most stylish five-star alpine hotels. It combines W Hotels’ bold, modern design with a classic Swiss mountain setting, making it a strong choice for travellers who want luxury, energy and easy access to Verbier’s restaurants, boutiques and mountain activities.
The hotel offers contemporary alpine-style rooms and suites, many with balconies and mountain views, plus W Residences for those wanting more space. Facilities include several restaurants and bars, including W Kitchen and Eat-Hola Tapas Bar, along with the AWAY Spa, indoor and outdoor pool areas, fitness facilities and the brand’s signature Whatever/Whenever service.
For golfers, W Verbier works best as a premium alpine base rather than a pure golf resort. Golf Club Verbier is nearby, while the wider Valais region gives access to courses such as Crans-sur-Sierre, Links Leuk and Golf Club Matterhorn as part of a Swiss touring itinerary. It is ideal for guests who want to combine golf with spa time, mountain scenery, fine dining, hiking, biking and Verbier’s lively resort atmosphere.

About The Area
Verbier is one of Switzerland’s most famous Alpine resorts, best known for skiing, mountain views and a polished chalet-style atmosphere — but it also works beautifully as a summer golf base. Set in Valais at around 1,500 metres, the resort has big mountain scenery in every direction and a more energetic, outdoorsy feel than some quieter Swiss golf towns.
The main venue is Golf Club Verbier, which offers two courses: the 18-hole Les Esserts course and the 18-hole Les Moulins pitch & putt. Les Esserts is the main test, a par-69 Alpine course with dramatic views of the surrounding mountain massifs. It is not overly long, but it asks plenty of questions: elevation changes, sloping lies, tight landing areas and mountain air all make club selection more interesting than the scorecard suggests. Les Moulins, located in the centre of the resort, is a par-54 approach course that is ideal for short-game practice, families or a lighter round after travelling.
Golf in Verbier is seasonal, with the main summer window running from late spring through autumn. The official resort site lists golf among its summer activities, while Golf Club Verbier’s own course information highlights seasonal play around the warmer months.
Off the course, Verbier is made for active travellers. Hiking, mountain biking, panoramic lift rides and terrace lunches are all part of the summer experience. The wider Val de Bagnes is excellent for scenic walks, while Martigny and the Rhône Valley vineyards are easy day-trip options. Verbier is also known for the Verbier Festival, a major summer classical music event, adding a cultural angle to the mountain setting.
For golfers seeking Alpine scenery, fresh air and a stylish mountain-resort atmosphere, Verbier delivers a memorable Swiss golf escape with far more going on than just the round itself.
