Golf Costa Daurada offers an enjoyable and varied round in the Mediterranean countryside just outside Tarragona. Surrounded by pine trees, olive trees and gently rolling woodland, the course feels peaceful and established, yet remains within easy reach of the Costa Daurada’s beaches, resorts and historic attractions.

The 18-hole, par-72 course measures approximately 6,307 metres and combines several different styles of golf within one layout. Golfers will encounter technical doglegs, water hazards and large bunkers alongside more open, links-inspired holes. The changing terrain and variety of challenges ensure that careful positioning is often more valuable than simply hitting the ball as far as possible.

The course began as a nine-hole design by Spanish architect Pepe Gancedo before being expanded and extensively remodelled. Five new holes were introduced during its later redesign, with the updated course opening in 2017 and hosting the golf competition at the 2018 Mediterranean Games. Its wooded hills, strategic hazards and mix of tighter and more generous playing areas make it suitable for different handicaps while still providing a proper challenge for experienced golfers.

Practice facilities include a driving range with natural-grass, covered and open-air teeing areas, target greens and lighting. Golfers can also use two putting greens, an approach area and practice bunkers, with coaching available through the club’s golf academies. After the round, the traditional Catalan farmhouse clubhouse is a lovely place to relax, with a restaurant specialising in regional cuisine.

Away from golf, visitors can explore Tarragona’s Roman amphitheatre, ancient city walls, cathedral and attractive old town. The Balcó del Mediterrani provides wonderful coastal views, while the fishing district of El Serrallo is a great choice for seafood. Golfers can also visit the beaches of the Costa Daurada or add a day at nearby PortAventura World.
