Mature trees can quickly block your route towards the green, while water hazards and changes in elevation mean simply reaching for the driver on every hole is not always the smartest option.

The course has also benefited from continued investment. A renovation completed in 2024 restored holes 10 to 12, returning the layout to its full 18-hole configuration and strengthening the challenge of the back nine.

Practice facilities are a real highlight. The 18-bay floodlit driving range includes 10 indoor bays featuring Toptracer technology and eight outdoor positions. There is also a short-game area, putting green and an indoor TrackMan 4 Studio, while PGA professionals provide coaching, club fitting and equipment advice. For golfers who like to warm up properly or build some practice into their holiday, it is an excellent set-up.

After golf, the Coach House provides a relaxed place for food and a drink, while Roe Valley Resort sits directly alongside the course for anyone wanting a convenient stay-and-play break.
