SENTIDO Æquora Lanzarote Suites is a practical and comfortable base for a Lanzarote golf holiday, especially for UK golfers looking for year-round sunshine, short transfers and easy resort living. Set close to Playa de los Pocillos, the hotel is around 200 metres from the beach, approximately 2km from Puerto del Carmen and about 5km from Lanzarote Airport, making it a very simple option for a short Canary Islands golf break.
This is not a golf-on-site hotel, but it works well for golfers because two of Lanzarote’s main courses are within reach. Lanzarote Golf, between Puerto del Carmen and Tías, is an 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Ron Kirby, with volcanic scenery, Atlantic views and a layout that is playable for different handicaps while still offering a proper holiday-golf challenge.
For extra variety, Costa Teguise Golf offers another 18-hole, par-72 option. Designed by John Harris and opened in 1978, it has a driving range, putting green, chipping area and volcanic-island character, with longer tee options stretching beyond 6,400 metres.
Back at SENTIDO Æquora Lanzarote Suites, guests can enjoy modern suite-style accommodation, several pools, adults-only areas, restaurants, bars, leisure activities and wellness options, making it suitable for couples, families and groups. For golf, our main recommendation is Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas, Spain’s oldest golf club, founded in 1891. Situated beside the spectacular Bandama volcanic crater, this historic 18-hole course offers challenging fairways, beautifully maintained greens and breathtaking views across Gran Canaria’s dramatic landscape. We would also recommend Las Palmeras Golf, an enjoyable 18-hole par-3 course within the city, perfect for improving your short game or enjoying a relaxed additional round.
Away from golf, Las Palmas has something for everyone. We would recommend spending an afternoon at Las Canteras Beach, a beautiful stretch of golden sand lined with waterfront restaurants, cafés and lively bars.
For something different, explore the historic Vegueta district, home to Santa Ana Cathedral, charming cobbled streets and fascinating museums. The neighbouring Triana district offers excellent shopping, while the city's traditional tapas bars provide the perfect setting for relaxing after golf.
