Argenta Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course in Emilia-Romagna, positioned between Ferrara and Ravenna and surrounded by the natural landscapes of the Po Delta Regional Park. Close to the Valle Santa nature reserve, the course offers a peaceful alternative to Italy’s busier coastal golf venues while remaining around 40 minutes from the Adriatic Sea.

Designed by Giovanni Trasforini and opened in 1991, the par-72 course extends to approximately 6,300 metres. Its unusual scorecard includes six par threes, six par fours and six par fives, creating plenty of variety throughout the round. The club has hosted regional championships as well as important junior and professional tournaments.

The layout follows the natural movement of the land and nearby riverbanks. Water hazards, low dunes, native bushes and mature groups of trees shape the holes, while six elevated teeing areas provide broader views across the course and surrounding countryside. Small, well-defended greens add another layer of difficulty, with subtle slopes that are not always easy to read.

Although the course is not especially hilly, it rewards careful positioning rather than simply hitting for distance. Water becomes an important factor on several holes, while doglegs and raised tee shots encourage golfers to plan their route towards the green. This makes Argenta approachable for improving players but sufficiently technical to keep more experienced golfers interested.

Facilities include a driving range, golf school and equipment hire, with buggies and rental clubs available. The welcoming clubhouse also has a restaurant, providing a comfortable place to enjoy regional food and drinks after the round.
