Chervò Golf San Vigilio, now presented by the venue as Garda Hotel San Vigilio Golf, is a major golf complex close to the southern shore of Lake Garda. Surrounded by Lombardy’s rolling moraine hills, vineyards and orchards, it provides a scenic and flexible setting for a golf holiday in northern Italy.

Designed by German architect Kurt Rossknecht, the club was established in 2008 and currently offers 36 holes divided between four nine-hole courses. Benaco and Solferino are both par 36, San Martino is par 35, and the redeveloped Pozzolengo “Fast Course” is now listed as a par-36 layout. Different combinations allow returning golfers to experience varied challenges during a longer stay.

The modern design features broad fairways, contoured greens, strategic bunkering and numerous water hazards. Its width makes the course playable for higher handicappers, but stronger golfers must find the correct side of the fairway to create favourable angles into the greens. Water becomes particularly influential around the clubhouse, where several holes share a large lake and double-green complex.

One of the most memorable tests is the par-three 5th on the Benaco course, played across water towards a green where club selection and commitment are essential. The closing holes on the Benaco and Solferino loops also provide an attractive finish beside the lake.

The club demonstrated its tournament credentials when it hosted the 2020 Italian Open on the European Tour, won by Ross McGowan. Visitors also benefit from extensive practice facilities, equipment hire, golf buggies, a professional shop and a panoramic clubhouse. With accommodation available beside the fairways and Lake Garda’s towns within easy reach, it works particularly well for couples and mixed groups seeking more than golf alone.
