Golfers can play the estate’s 18-hole, par-72 championship course. Measuring 6,996 yards from the back tees, it was designed by Jonathan Gaunt and makes effective use of the rolling landscape. Elevated tees, mature trees, streams, lakes and substantial bunkering create a varied parkland challenge where thoughtful course management is as important as distance.
Practice facilities include a golf academy, driving range, putting green and short-game area. With every facility located within the estate, groups can move easily between their accommodation, the first tee and post-round dining.
The View Restaurant and Bar is situated within Wokefield Place and provides an informal, family-friendly setting for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. Guests staying in the Mansion House can enjoy lighter meals, afternoon tea and drinks in the 1560 Lounge & Bar, while Benedict’s Bar offers another relaxed meeting place for snacks and post-round refreshments.
Away from the course, the estate has an indoor swimming pool and a refurbished gym. Reading’s shops, restaurants and riverside attractions are within easy reach, while the surrounding Berkshire countryside provides opportunities for walking and quieter days away from golf.
