Verwood is a smart Dorset golf break base for golfers who want countryside, forest walks and easy access to several strong courses without staying in a busy seaside resort. Set on the edge of the New Forest and close to Bournemouth, Poole and Wimborne, it works well for groups who want quiet evenings, good-value accommodation and flexible days out between rounds.
For golf, the main local recommendation is Crane Valley Golf Club, set in 184 acres of Dorset countryside with the River Crane running through the course. It gives visiting golfers a relaxed, scenic round close to Verwood. For a bigger Dorset golf itinerary, we would also look at Ferndown Golf Club for a more prestigious heathland-style experience, or The Dorset Golf Resort, which offers 27 holes of championship golf and stay-and-play potential.
Away from the course, Verwood is ideal for golfers who like the outdoors.
