Bicester Golf Club is the golf operation at Bicester Hotel Golf and Spa, situated in the Oxfordshire countryside near Chesterton. Formerly known as Chesterton Golf Club, its parkland course has undergone a substantial redevelopment designed to create an accessible but strategically interesting challenge for different abilities.

The compact 18-hole layout uses multiple teeing positions and reconstructed green complexes to create two distinct nine-hole sequences. Across the course, golfers encounter tree-lined playing corridors, angled approaches, remodelled bunkers and seven interconnected lake systems. Water is both a visual feature and a genuine strategic influence, particularly around several greens.

One of the most memorable challenges is the par-three 3rd/12th, where different tee positions alter the angle and character of the hole. The closing stretch also brings water prominently into play. Accuracy is important at the dogleg 17th, while the 18th begins with a demanding carry before an approach to a well-bunkered green bordered by water.

Bicester has particularly strong practice facilities. Its 13-bay floodlit driving range features interactive Toptracer technology, allowing golfers to practise, play virtual courses or compete in games. A putting green, chipping area and practice bunker support short-game work, while individual and group tuition is available from the club’s PGA professional.

Visitors are welcome on a pay-and-play basis, although tee times should be reserved in advance. Buggies, push trolleys and golf clubs can also be hired. After a round, Bar Nineteen overlooks the course and provides a convenient setting for lunch or drinks.

The adjoining hotel offers 52 rooms and suites, restaurants, spa facilities and a health club. Golf packages are available, while nearby Bicester Village, Oxford and Blenheim Palace add useful non-golf options.
