Royal Waterloo Golf Club
Waterloo
Royal Waterloo Golf Club is a superb choice for a Belgium golf holiday, especially for golfers who want championship golf close to Brussels. Set in Lasne, near the famous Waterloo battlefield, the club combines peaceful Walloon Brabant countryside with very easy access from the capital and its airports.
The venue offers excellent variety, with two 18-hole courses, La Marache and Le Lion, plus the 9-hole Le Bois Héros course. La Marache is the club’s classic championship layout, originally designed by Fred Hawtree and now playing as a par-73 course of around 6,272 metres. It is widely appreciated for its mature, noble parkland feel, with tree-lined holes, strategic greens and a strong tournament pedigree.
Le Lion adds a different challenge. Developed as a championship course in the 1980s, it plays to par 72 and stretches beyond 6,000 metres, giving golfers another full-quality round without leaving the club. Together, the courses make Royal Waterloo ideal for groups, longer stays or golfers who want more than one serious round in the Brussels area.
For a Belgium golf break, Royal Waterloo works beautifully alongside other courses around Brussels and Walloon Brabant, while the city itself adds restaurants, culture, history and easy transport links. Hashtag Golf Travel can help arrange the right flights, hotels, transfers and tee times, creating a smooth golf holiday with proper championship golf and Brussels close by.

About The Area
Waterlooville is a practical Hampshire base for a South Coast golf break, especially for golfers who want easy access to Portsmouth, Hayling Island, the South Downs and nearby parkland golf. Rome2Rio lists Southampton as the nearest airport at 15.3 miles, while Travelmath puts Southampton Airport at around 22 miles from Waterlooville.
The main golf option is Waterlooville Golf Club, founded in 1907. The club describes it as an 18-hole parkland course measuring 6,550 yards, with tree-lined fairways, water hazards, a practice range and putting green. The club also notes that the course was designed by Sir Henry Cotton and includes five par 5s, five par 3s and eight par 4s.
Away from the course, Waterlooville is useful because it sits close to several strong day-out areas. Portsmouth offers the Historic Dockyard, Spinnaker Tower and waterfront attractions, while the South Downs gives walking, cycling and countryside.
For Hashtag Golf Travel customers, Waterlooville works best as a Hampshire golf weekend, a society base, or a practical stop for combining Waterlooville Golf Club with Hayling Island, Portsmouth and the South Downs.
