Golfplatz Urslautal

Saalfelden

average rating is 4 out of 5

Golfplatz Urslautal is a beautiful choice for an Austria golf holiday, especially for golfers who want alpine scenery, peaceful surroundings and a proper championship course without an overly steep mountain walk. Set on a high plateau between Saalfelden and Maria Alm, the course sits at the foot of the dramatic Steinernes Meer mountain range, giving the whole round a calm, scenic and unmistakably Austrian feel.

The course is an 18-hole, par-71 championship layout, with the official scorecard showing yardages of 5,967 metres from the white tees and 5,738 metres from the yellow tees. It blends neatly into the natural landscape, with meadows, biotopes, water features, bunkers and open views all helping to shape the challenge.

For holiday golfers, Urslautal offers that lovely balance of playability and interest. The course is scenic and enjoyable, but the tricky greens, water hazards and strategic bunkering mean golfers still need to think their way around. Practice facilities are strong too, with local tourism information highlighting a 5,000m² driving range, while Golf Austria notes a spacious range with around 60 tees, plus chipping, putting and a 3-hole compact course.

As part of an Austria golf holiday, Urslautal pairs naturally with nearby courses around Zell am See, Kitzbühel, Eichenheim and Hohe Tauern. Hashtag Golf Travel can help arrange the right flights, hotels, transfers and tee times, creating a smooth alpine golf break with mountain views doing a lot of the selling.

About The Area

Saalfelden is a very strong alpine golf base, especially for travellers who want mountain views, fresh air and a quieter Austrian feel than the bigger-name resorts. Sitting in the Saalfelden Leogang region, it combines golf, hiking, biking, lakes, wellness hotels and easy access to the wider SalzburgerLand area. The local tourism board highlights year-round outdoor activities, with skiing and cross-country skiing in winter, then hiking, biking and cultural events in summer.

For golf, Saalfelden has a proper advantage. The region has two 18-hole courses: Golfclub Urslautal and Golfclub Gut Brandlhof, with another 15 courses within a 70 km radius. That makes it much more useful for a multi-round itinerary than it might first appear.

Golfclub Urslautal sits on a mountain plateau between Saalfelden and Maria Alm, with an 18-hole course surrounded by dramatic alpine scenery. Gut Brandlhof offers an 18-hole championship course along the Saalach river, with the river coming into play several times during the round, plus practice facilities and resort-style hotel facilities on site.

Away from golf, Saalfelden works brilliantly for a summer alpine holiday. Travellers can add walking, mountain biking, lake visits, spa time, scenic drives and day trips towards Zell am See, Kitzbühel or the Hohe Tauern region. For Hashtag Golf Travel customers, Saalfelden is best suited to a scenic Austria golf escape, a golf-and-wellness break, or a quieter alternative to Kitzbühel with plenty of course variety nearby.
