Golfclub Gut Brandlhof

Saalfelden

average rating is 4 out of 5

Golfclub Gut Brandlhof is a brilliant choice for an Austria golf holiday, especially for golfers who want stay-and-play convenience in a dramatic alpine setting. Set beside the 4-star superior Hotel Gut Brandlhof in Saalfelden, the course sits in the Salzburg mountains with views towards the Steinernes Meer and easy access to the wider Saalfelden Leogang region.

The course is an 18-hole, par-72 layout, with men’s tees listed at 5,710 metres and ladies’ tees at 4,987 metres. It is largely flat, which makes it very playable for holiday golfers, but the round is far from simple. The River Saalach runs through the course and has to be crossed up to six times during 18 holes, adding a memorable natural hazard and plenty of decision-making.

For travelling golfers, Gut Brandlhof works especially well because everything is close together. The resort includes hotel accommodation, spa and wellness facilities, indoor sports, a driving range, covered practice bays, and dedicated pitching, putting and bunker practice areas.

As part of an Austria golf holiday, Gut Brandlhof pairs naturally with nearby courses around Saalfelden, Zell am See, Urslautal, Hohe Tauern and Kitzbühel. Hashtag Golf Travel can help arrange the right flights, hotels, transfers and tee times, creating a smooth alpine golf break with proper mountain scenery and very easy resort logistics.

About The Area

Saalfelden is a very strong alpine golf base, especially for travellers who want mountain views, fresh air and a quieter Austrian feel than the bigger-name resorts. Sitting in the Saalfelden Leogang region, it combines golf, hiking, biking, lakes, wellness hotels and easy access to the wider SalzburgerLand area. The local tourism board highlights year-round outdoor activities, with skiing and cross-country skiing in winter, then hiking, biking and cultural events in summer.

For golf, Saalfelden has a proper advantage. The region has two 18-hole courses: Golfclub Urslautal and Golfclub Gut Brandlhof, with another 15 courses within a 70 km radius. That makes it much more useful for a multi-round itinerary than it might first appear.

Golfclub Urslautal sits on a mountain plateau between Saalfelden and Maria Alm, with an 18-hole course surrounded by dramatic alpine scenery. Gut Brandlhof offers an 18-hole championship course along the Saalach river, with the river coming into play several times during the round, plus practice facilities and resort-style hotel facilities on site.

Away from golf, Saalfelden works brilliantly for a summer alpine holiday. Travellers can add walking, mountain biking, lake visits, spa time, scenic drives and day trips towards Zell am See, Kitzbühel or the Hohe Tauern region. For Hashtag Golf Travel customers, Saalfelden is best suited to a scenic Austria golf escape, a golf-and-wellness break, or a quieter alternative to Kitzbühel with plenty of course variety nearby.
