Lost Farm Lodge provides an exceptionally convenient base for a golf holiday at Barnbougle, placing guests beside the Lost Farm course on Tasmania’s spectacular north-east coast. Lost Farm’s first tee, clubhouse, restaurant and spa are all a short walk from the accommodation. The main attraction is the 20-hole Lost Farm course, designed by Coore & Crenshaw and routed through steep coastal dunes beside Anderson Bay. Its generous fairways, strategic bunkering and undulating greens create plenty of options without diminishing the challenge.
Guests should also allow time for The Dunes, Barnbougle’s original Tom Doak and Mike Clayton-designed links, located just across the river. Bougle Run completes the collection: a highly entertaining 14-hole short course featuring twelve par threes and two par fours, with a typical round taking approximately 90 minutes.
Away from the fairways, the Lost Farm Restaurant showcases Tasmanian produce in a memorable coastal setting, while the Sports Bar offers a more relaxed option for post-round food and drinks. The on-site spa gives golfers and non-golfing partners somewhere to unwind between rounds.
Barnbougle’s remote location is a major part of its appeal, although journeys should be planned carefully. Most UK visitors will connect through an Australian international gateway before flying domestically to Launceston.
