Aira Hotel Bangkok

Bangkok

average rating is 4 out of 5

Right in the middle of Sukhumvit 11, Aira Hotel Bangkok puts you in one of the liveliest parts of the city — but manages to keep things feeling surprisingly calm once you step inside. It’s a modern 4-star hotel with a bit of personality, blending Thai-inspired design with a more contemporary, lifestyle feel.

The location is a big win. You’re a short walk from Nana BTS station, which makes getting around Bangkok easy, and you’ve got restaurants, bars and nightlife right on your doorstep. Terminal 21 and other major shopping spots are also within walking distance, so it works whether you’re here for golf, food or a bit of everything.

Facilities are strong across the board. There’s a rooftop-style pool with sun loungers, a gym, restaurant and bar, plus all the practical bits like 24-hour reception and concierge. It’s got that balance of being social if you want it, but easy to dip out and relax as well.

Rooms are modern and well-sized for Bangkok, with smart TVs, fast WiFi, minibars and workspace areas — ideal if you’re mixing a golf trip with a bit of downtime or remote work.

From a golf point of view, it’s a solid base. You’re well positioned for most Bangkok courses, while still being right in the action for evenings — which is exactly what most golf groups want.

About The Area

Khao Yai is one of Thailand’s premier inland golf destinations, set just a few hours northeast of Bangkok and known for its cooler climate, mountain scenery and collection of high-quality courses. Located on the edge of Khao Yai National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the area offers a refreshing contrast to Thailand’s coastal golf hubs.

The standout venue is Kirimaya Golf Resort & Spa, a Jack Nicklaus-designed championship course set within natural forest and rolling terrain. The layout features tree-lined fairways, elevation changes and well-protected greens, creating a strategic and visually striking round. Nearby, Mission Hills Khao Yai Golf Club offers a more open and forgiving layout with scenic mountain views, while Rancho Charnvee Resort & Country Club provides a European-style experience with wide fairways, lakes and a relaxed resort feel.

Golf in Khao Yai benefits from a slightly cooler climate than Bangkok, making it particularly enjoyable between November and February when temperatures are at their most comfortable. The region is playable year-round, but this period offers the best conditions.

Off the course, Khao Yai is known for its natural beauty and slower pace. The national park offers waterfalls, wildlife and hiking trails, while the surrounding area has developed a growing wine scene, boutique resorts and countryside cafés. It’s a destination that feels more rural and relaxed compared to Thailand’s busier golf centres.

For golfers seeking cooler temperatures, scenic courses and a peaceful escape within easy reach of Bangkok, Khao Yai delivers one of Thailand’s most enjoyable and well-rounded inland golf experiences.
