Las Colinas Golf & Country Club is one of the standout golf experiences on the southern Costa Blanca, offering championship golf in a peaceful Mediterranean valley near Orihuela. Designed by respected American golf architect Cabell B. Robinson, the 18-hole, par-71 championship course opened in 2010. Robinson has used the natural contours of the valley beautifully, combining broad fairways, gentle elevation changes, lakes and strategic bunkering to create a layout that rewards thoughtful golf rather than simply distance.

What we particularly like about Las Colinas is the balance between playability and challenge. Many fairways look inviting from the tee, but position matters if you want the best angle into the greens. Bunkers regularly dictate the ideal line, while water comes into play on several holes and can quickly punish an overly ambitious approach. Better golfers have plenty of opportunities to take on more aggressive routes, while the choice of tees keeps the course enjoyable for higher handicappers.

The surrounding landscape is a huge part of the experience. Las Colinas sits within a 330-hectare valley, with extensive areas of preserved Mediterranean vegetation creating a sense of space around the course. Rather than being surrounded by dense development, many holes feel completely immersed in nature, which gives the round a calm and exclusive atmosphere.

Practice facilities are excellent. The club has a natural-grass practice area, large putting green and Golf Academy, while Toptracer Range technology allows golfers to analyse ball flight and shot data during practice sessions. One of the real highlights is the 5,000m² short-game area designed by Miguel Ángel Jiménez, providing an impressive facility for working on pitching, chipping and bunker play.

The clubhouse provides everything you need before and after the round, including a Golf Shop, changing facilities and dining options. The wider Las Colinas estate also offers restaurants, sports facilities and villa and apartment accommodation, making it easy to turn a round here into a complete stay-and-play experience.
