La Sella Golf is a 27-hole José María Olazábal-designed complex located beside Montgó Natural Park on the Costa Blanca. Rather than following one fixed 18-hole layout, the course is divided into three distinctive nine-hole loops—Llebeig, Gregal and Mestral—which can be combined to create varied rounds.

Llebeig is the most technical loop. Facing south and surrounded by pine trees, it uses elevation changes, narrow fairways and carefully protected greens to test accuracy. The demanding par-four seventh brings both a watercourse and lake into play, while the final hole climbs towards a clover-shaped green backed by views of Montgó.

Gregal provides a flatter but water-heavy challenge. Lakes and streams influence several holes, asking golfers to decide when to attack and when to play conservatively. Its collection of shaped greens, deep bunkers and risk-and-reward par fives means the scorecard can change quickly despite the gentler terrain.

Mestral faces north and is more open, with wider fairways and large greens. Its elevated position provides some of La Sella’s finest views across the Mediterranean, Montgó Natural Park and the surrounding mountains. Water and strategically positioned bunkers maintain the challenge, but the additional space from the tee makes Mestral particularly enjoyable for mixed-handicap groups.

La Sella opened its first nine holes in 1986. Olazábal returned in 2019 to oversee a complete renovation, with the three-year project modernising the entire complex. The course has subsequently hosted the La Sella Open on the Ladies European Tour.

Facilities include a driving range, three large short-game and putting greens, a specialist golf academy, equipment hire, buggy hire and a golf shop. The adjoining five-star Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort & Spa is around two minutes’ walk from the clubhouse.
