ENVIA Almería Spa & Golf is a five-star golf and wellness resort set within the peaceful La Envía development, around 16 kilometres from Almería city. Surrounded by the foothills of the Sierra de Gádor, the hotel enjoys far-reaching views across the golf course, mountains and Bay of Almería.

Accommodation includes comfortable double rooms, preferred rooms with golf or pool views and a small collection of spacious suites. Many rooms have a balcony or terrace, making the most of the resort’s quiet hillside setting. Guests can also enjoy restaurants, bars, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and landscaped areas overlooking the course.

The adjoining La Envía Golf course provides 18 holes of on-site golf. Designed by Francisco Mendoza, the par-70 layout follows a sheltered valley between the surrounding mountains. Palm trees, agave plants and native shrubs give the course the appearance of a green oasis within Almería’s otherwise dry landscape.

At around 5,400 metres, La Envía is not especially long, but its changes in elevation, water hazards, bunkering and carefully positioned greens require accurate shot-making. The sheltered valley setting offers protection from stronger coastal winds, helping to create comfortable playing conditions throughout much of the year. Practice facilities and a golf academy are also available.

One of the resort’s main attractions away from the course is its 5,000-square-metre adults-only spa and wellness centre. Facilities include a thermal circuit, Turkish steam bath, relaxation areas, treatment rooms and a large fitness centre. This makes ENVIA Almería particularly suitable for couples and mixed groups where not everyone plans to play golf.

We think this is a strong choice for a relaxing Spanish golf holiday, especially during the cooler months when Almería’s dry, sunny climate provides an appealing escape from the UK.
