Desert Springs is a family-friendly golf and leisure resort set within the distinctive desert landscape of Almería. Accommodation is offered through a varied collection of self-catering apartments, townhouses and villas positioned around the resort. Different property sizes allow couples, families and larger golf groups to stay together, while selected developments have shared swimming pools and landscaped gardens. Larger villas provide additional space and may include private pools.
The resort’s centrepiece is the on-site Indiana Course, a genuine desert-style championship layout surrounded by rocky outcrops, dry riverbeds, cacti and mountain scenery. Its firm playing surfaces, strategically placed hazards and high-quality practice facilities provide a distinctive alternative to Spain’s more traditional parkland and coastal courses.
El Torrente Restaurant occupies the clubhouse and serves Mediterranean-inspired dishes created with produce from the surrounding region. Guests can dine inside or on terraces overlooking Powder Creek, its waterfall and the eighteenth hole. The Crocodile Club offers a more relaxed poolside setting, with casual food, drinks and seasonal entertainment.
There is plenty to do away from the golf course. Las Sierras Sports Club includes a gym, tennis and padel courts, fitness trails, beach volleyball, five-a-side football and a 20-metre swimming pool. The Day Spa provides massages and beauty treatments, while yoga and Pilates sessions are available on selected dates. A supervised children’s club normally operates during July and August.
The Mediterranean coast is approximately ten minutes away, giving guests easy access to beaches and nearby towns such as Vera, Garrucha and Mojácar. The region’s dry, sunny climate makes Desert Springs particularly appealing for autumn, winter and spring golf holidays.
