The Golf View Hotel & Spa is one of our favourite bases for a golf break in the Scottish Highlands, combining a superb seafront location with comfortable accommodation, excellent spa facilities and some outstanding links golf close by. Sitting above the shoreline in Nairn, the hotel looks directly across the Moray Firth towards the Black Isle, giving you fantastic coastal views from the moment you arrive.

The bedrooms and suites have a warm, contemporary Scottish feel, with several categories available depending on how much space and comfort you want. We particularly like the sea-facing rooms, where you can wake up looking across the Moray Firth before heading out for your morning tee time. Nairn Dunbar is also close by, giving you two excellent local courses without needing lengthy transfers. From here, it is easy to build a wider Highland itinerary incorporating more championship golf around Inverness and the Moray Firth.

One of the big advantages of staying at Golf View is having the Coast Spa waiting when you return. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and indoor and outdoor hot tubs, with the outdoor option overlooking the coastline. There is also a dedicated thermal experience featuring a Stone Bath, Himalayan Salt Room, experience shower and cold plunge. After a windy 18 holes on the links, it is exactly the sort of place we would want to spend an hour or two.

Dining is another highlight. Hickory showcases Scottish produce in a stylish restaurant overlooking the Moray Firth, while the Golf View Bar is ideal for something more relaxed and a post-round drink. Afternoon tea is also available for days when you are taking a break from the golf.

Nairn itself adds plenty to the stay, with long beaches and coastal walks right outside the hotel, while Inverness is only around 16 miles away. That makes it easy to combine golf with sightseeing, whisky, Highland scenery and evenings exploring the surrounding area.
