Argentario Golf Club

Tuscany

average rating is 5 out of 5

Argentario Golf Club offers a distinctive round in southern Tuscany, combining championship golf with panoramic views across the Orbetello Lagoon, Mediterranean coastline and surrounding hills. The course is recognised as PGA National Italy and strengthened its international profile when it hosted the 2025 Italian Open on the DP World Tour.

Opened in 2006, the 18-hole, par-71 course measures 6,295 metres. It was designed by architect David Mezzacane and Italian professional Baldovino Dassù, with Brian Jorgensen responsible for shaping the holes. The routing moves through ancient olive groves, cork trees and dense Mediterranean vegetation, creating a varied layout where the scenery changes throughout the round.

Argentario requires a thoughtful combination of accuracy and power. Sweeping fairways may appear inviting from the tee, but changes in elevation, strategically positioned water hazards and well-protected greens place a premium on careful club selection. Several holes overlook the sea and lagoon, while others feel enclosed by the natural vegetation. A regular coastal breeze can also influence ball flight and add another layer to the challenge.

The course sits within a protected natural area and is maintained using natural products. Its BioAgricert environmental certification recognises the club’s approach to sustainability and water management, making it an appealing choice for golfers who value environmentally responsible course maintenance.

After the round, the contemporary clubhouse provides a relaxed 19th-hole setting. Its panoramic terrace looks across the course towards Orbetello Lagoon, while the restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes and refreshments. With a mild coastal microclimate supporting year-round play, Argentario Golf Club works especially well for a spring or autumn golf holiday in Tuscany.
