Golf de Baden

Baden

average rating is 4 out of 5

Golf de Baden is a lovely choice for a Brittany golf holiday, especially for UK golfers looking for coastal scenery, relaxed French charm and a course that feels different from the usual resort layouts. Set in Morbihan, close to the Gulf of Morbihan and the Auray River, the course is just 15 minutes from Vannes and around 1 hour 15 minutes from Nantes Atlantique Airport, making it a practical option for a short golf break in western France.

The 18-hole course is a par-72 layout measuring around 5,952 metres, with a compact 6-hole course also available by reservation. What makes Baden appealing is the variety: the opening section runs close to the river with views towards the sea, the middle holes move through more open countryside, and the closing stretch winds through pine trees before finishing near the clubhouse.

For golfers, this is not an overly punishing course, but it still asks for sensible club selection and good course management. The wider greens make it enjoyable for mixed-handicap groups, while the tighter tree-lined holes, water hazards and coastal breezes keep better players interested. The setting on the edge of the Morbihan Gulf and Auray River, with pines, broom and varied views adding to the experience.

Golf de Baden works particularly well as part of a South Brittany golf itinerary, with nearby courses such as Saint-Laurent, Val Quéven and Ploemeur Océan adding extra variety. For a France golf holiday with scenery, good food, coastal towns and easy-going golf, Baden is a very enjoyable option.

About The Area

Baden is a lovely choice for golfers who want a France golf holiday with coastal scenery, peaceful Breton charm and easy access to the Gulf of Morbihan. Set between Vannes and Auray, this part of southern Brittany feels calm, green and scenic, with quiet lanes, waterside villages, island views and plenty of fresh sea air. The Gulf of Morbihan covers around 40 square kilometres between Vannes, Auray, Arzon and Sarzeau, with islands and islets dotted across the water, making it one of Brittany’s most beautiful coastal areas.

The main golfing highlight is Golf Bluegreen Baden, set beside the Auray River within the Gulf of Morbihan Regional Natural Park. The 18-hole course measures 5,952 metres and offers wide greens, varied holes and lovely views across the Gulf. It is described as a mix of marine, countryside and woodland golf, so the round never feels repetitive.

For extra variety, Golf Bluegreen Rhuys-Kerver is also within the wider Morbihan golf area, offering another 18-hole course near Arzon and the south side of the Gulf.

Away from the fairways, Baden is ideal for boat trips, coastal walks, cycling, seafood, local markets and easy day trips to Vannes, Auray, Larmor-Baden and Île-aux-Moines. For UK golfers, Baden works beautifully as part of a tailor-made Brittany golf holiday, combining relaxed coastal golf, authentic French villages and plenty of scenery.
