Hôtel la Résidence du Berry
Versailles
The Hotel la Residence du Berry is a charming three-star boutique hotel situated in the heart of the quartier Saint-Louis in Versailles. The building dates back to 1727 when Louis XV built a private mansion for Sieur Louis Delalande, the noble charged with tending to the King’s tableware. Today, the building houses a range of comfortable and spacious guestrooms and suites. The rooms are modern and decorated with neutral tones with stunning views of the courtyard garden. The rooms are equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi and a flat-screen satellite television. Some of the rooms have beautiful exposed wood beam ceilings. Across the road from the hotel, you will find the fantastic family-run restaurant Le Café des Arts. This brasserie has the charm of an old-time French café and serves a range of classic bistro dishes. Residents of the hotel are treated to a free aperitif or coffee at the restaurant. After a delicious meal, savour a glass of champagne or enjoy a game of pool in the hotel bar, with its cosy atmosphere and wide range of drinks. The hotel has a fantastic location, just a mere three-minutes’ walk from the Chateau de Versailles, its park and the renowned Versailles market.

About The Area
Versailles is a brilliant Kentucky golf holiday base for golfers who want rolling Bluegrass scenery, bourbon heritage and horse country all wrapped into one relaxed trip. Just outside Lexington, it gives groups a quieter small-town feel while still being close to some of the region’s best food, distilleries, racing culture and countryside.
For golf, our main recommendation is The Woodford Club, an 18-hole, par-71 championship course set across the rolling hills of the Bluegrass. It is open to all, which makes it a useful option for travelling golfers, and the setting gives the round that proper Kentucky feel, with horse farms, open land and peaceful views around you. It works really well as part of a wider Kentucky golf itinerary alongside Lexington and Georgetown.
Away from the course, Versailles is where the trip gets even better. Woodford Reserve Distillery is a must for bourbon lovers, with tours and tastings available by reservation, while Woodford County also gives you scenic drives, historic sites, vineyards, local parks and farm-to-table food. For groups who want the full Bluegrass experience, we would also suggest adding a horse farm tour nearby, especially if this is your first time in Kentucky.
Our tip: choose Versailles if your group wants a Kentucky golf break with countryside golf, bourbon stops, horse-country charm and easy access to Lexington without staying right in the city.
