About The Area

Wyboston is a practical Bedfordshire base for a UK golf break, best known for Wyboston Lakes Resort rather than as a traditional holiday town. It sits close to St Neots, Bedford and the River Great Ouse, making it a useful choice for golfers who want an easy, low-fuss stay with golf, hotel facilities and countryside all close together.

The main draw is Wyboston Lakes Golf Course, an 18-hole, par-70 parkland course designed by Neil Oakland in 1975. The resort lists the course at 5,985 yards, with water hazards, attractive holes and views over the East Lake and 18th hole, so it works well for relaxed golf breaks, societies, work groups and couples who want everything in one place.

There are useful nearby golf options too. St Neots Golf Club is close by and is described as one of Cambridgeshire’s premier courses, with views over the Rivers Kym and Great Ouse. Its course history notes that the full 18 holes came into use in 1966, creating a mature parkland layout shaped by rivers, trees and water features.

Away from golf, Wyboston works well for gentle local exploring. Bedford is nearby for riverside walks, Bedford Park and the John Bunyan Museum, while Milton Keynes is around 35 minutes away by car for shopping and indoor activities.

For Hashtag Golf Travel customers, Wyboston is best suited to a UK golf weekend, society trip, corporate golf break or simple stay-and-play escape. It is not a glamorous resort destination, but for convenience, on-site facilities and easy road access, it does the job very neatly.
