The par-71 course measures 6,179 yards and follows the natural contours of the estate. Although it is not especially long by modern championship standards, the combination of changing terrain, hazards and tree-lined sections means accurate positioning can be more valuable than simply hitting for distance.
The course has been designed to suit a broad range of abilities, which makes it a good option for mixed-handicap groups. Better players can attack the scoring opportunities when they find the right positions from the tee, while higher-handicap golfers have enough room to enjoy the round without the layout becoming overly punishing. Wymondham is a charming Norfolk market-town base for a relaxed UK golf break, especially for golfers who want history, countryside and easy access to Norwich without staying in the city. The town has medieval streets, independent shops, cafés and the impressive Wymondham Abbey, giving it more character than a simple overnight stop.
