About The Area
Truro is a brilliant base for a Cornwall golf holiday, especially for golfers who want city comfort, easy access to both coasts and plenty to do away from the course. As Cornwall’s only city, it gives you shops, pubs, restaurants, culture and a proper Cornish feel, while still keeping you close to beaches, countryside and some excellent golf.
For golf, Truro Golf Club is the natural starting point. It is an 18-hole, par-67 parkland course just outside the city, with countryside views and a welcoming clubhouse. We like it for golfers who want a relaxed round rather than a long, tiring championship test. For a longer golf break in Cornwall, Truro also works well as a base for heading out to coastal courses, including options towards St Austell, Falmouth, Newquay and the north coast.
Away from golf, Truro is one of the easiest Cornish destinations to enjoy. We would recommend time around Truro Cathedral, the independent shops, the museum, local markets and the city’s restaurants. It is also a great base for day trips to the Roseland Peninsula, Falmouth, St Mawes, the Fal Estuary or Cornwall’s beaches.
Our tip: choose Truro if you want a Cornwall golf break that is not just about one course. It gives you a proper central base, good local golf and loads of easy ways to enjoy Cornwall between rounds.
