Rudding Park
Harrogate
Rudding Park is a luxury countryside resort near Harrogate, combining stylish accommodation, an award-winning spa, excellent dining and golf within 300 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland. With everything available on the estate and Harrogate only a short drive away, it is an excellent choice for couples, golf groups and mixed parties looking for a premium Yorkshire golf break.
The hotel offers 90 bedrooms and suites, alongside luxury cottages and lodges for guests wanting additional space and privacy. Traditional Ribston Wing rooms sit alongside more contemporary Follifoot Wing accommodation, while Spa Rooms include their own private sauna, steam room or spa bath. Larger suites provide separate living space, with selected options featuring private terraces and complimentary Roof Top Spa access.
The Rudding Park Spa is one of the resort's biggest highlights. Hotel residents can use the indoor swimming pool, while the Roof Top Spa and Garden adds hydrotherapy, sauna experiences and outdoor relaxation spaces. Spa treatments and specialist experiences are also available, making this an especially good resort for groups where not everyone wants to spend every day on the golf course.
Dining is another major strength. Guests can choose between Clocktower Brasserie, Horto and FIFTY TWO, the resort's immersive fine-dining restaurant, which holds one Michelin Star as of 2026. This gives Rudding Park much more of a destination-resort feel than a typical golf hotel, with plenty of reasons to stay on site after the final putt has dropped.
Golfers have extensive facilities on the estate, including an 18-hole Hawtree Course, six-hole short course and TrackMan Driving Range. The combination makes it easy to add a full championship round, evening practice or a shorter game into the same stay without arranging transfers.
Harrogate is close enough for restaurants, bars and shopping, while Knaresborough, Fountains Abbey and the Yorkshire Dales offer plenty of options for a day away from the resort. We recommend Rudding Park for golfers wanting high-quality accommodation, serious spa facilities and golf on the doorstep, particularly for couples, smaller groups and special-occasion golf trips.

About The Area
Wetherby is a very handy Yorkshire golf base, especially for golfers who want easy A1(M) access, a smart market-town feel and quick links to Leeds, York and Harrogate. The town council describes Wetherby as an attractive visitor spot with independent shops, cafés, places to stay, riverside walks and access from the A1(M), which makes it a nicely rounded short-break base.
The main local course is Wetherby Golf Club, an 18-hole parkland course set in Yorkshire countryside alongside the River Wharfe. The club promotes its green fairways and riverside setting, while course listings describe it as a par-73 layout of around 6,700 yards, originally founded in 1910 and redesigned by Dr Alister MacKenzie in 1919.
Away from golf, Wetherby has a strong racing and day-trip angle. Wetherby Racecourse offers racing, dining and hospitality, while the town’s riverside walks and bridge make it easy for a relaxed post-round stroll. Wetherby is also well placed for Harrogate, York, Leeds, Stockeld Park, Bramham Park and the wider Yorkshire countryside.
For Hashtag Golf Travel customers, Wetherby works best as a Yorkshire golf weekend, a society base, or a golf-and-racing break with excellent access to nearby towns and attractions.
