Elba Palace Golf Boutique Hotel

Antigua

average rating is 5 out of 5

Elba Palace Golf Boutique Hotel is a five-star, adults-only retreat within Fuerteventura Golf Resort, close to Caleta de Fuste on the island’s eastern coast. Built around an impressive Canarian courtyard, the hotel combines colonial-style architecture, wooden balconies and peaceful gardens with immediate access to the golf course. Its intimate atmosphere makes it a strong choice for couples and small groups planning a relaxed Fuerteventura golf holiday.

The hotel has just 62 rooms and suites, helping it feel quieter and more personal than Fuerteventura’s larger beach resorts. Deluxe rooms measure around 34 square metres, while suites provide approximately 57 square metres and a separate living area. Every room includes a private patio or balcony, with selected categories overlooking the golf course and the Atlantic beyond.

Golf-view rooms are particularly appealing, allowing guests to wake up beside the fairways and enjoy the scenery from a furnished balcony. Prestige accommodation adds benefits such as welcome amenities, a refreshed minibar, evening turndown and unlimited access to the neighbouring Sheraton Fuerteventura Thalasso Spa. The Penthouse Suite occupies the hotel’s highest level and includes panoramic golf and sea views, several terrace areas and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi.

Dining is centred around the St Andrews Restaurant, which serves Canarian specialities, fresh fish, local cheeses and international dishes. Half-board dinners combine a buffet of starters and desserts with main courses served from the menu, while themed evenings and live entertainment add variety during longer stays. In summer, dinner may be served beneath the stars in the hotel’s Canarian courtyard.

Café Hoyo 19 offers a more informal setting beside the golf course, with a terrace overlooking the fairways, surrounding landscape and sea. It is a convenient place for breakfast, tapas, salads or a post-round drink. The hotel also has a Piano Bar and an extensive wine cellar containing more than 300 wines and a remarkable selection of brandies.

Leisure facilities include a heated outdoor swimming pool, sun terrace, Balinese beds and a fully equipped gym. The relaxation area has a sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room, while the Aloe Vera and Honey Wellness Centre offers massages, facials and body treatments using products associated with Fuerteventura. Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, aquagym and other organised activities may also be available.

The hotel sits directly within Fuerteventura Golf Club, with the clubhouse, professional shop and Hoyo 19 café forming part of the same complex. Designed by Juan Catarineu, the course was the island’s first 18-hole layout and hosted the Spanish Open in 2004. Hotel guests can request preferred green-fee arrangements through reception, creating a very straightforward stay-and-play experience.

Although the property is built around golf, guests are not limited to the resort. Caleta de Fuste is approximately 3.5 kilometres away, while the beach and Atlantic Shopping Centre are around two kilometres from the hotel. A complimentary daytime shuttle connects the resort with the beach, shopping centre and selected stops around Caleta de Fuste.

At Hashtag Golf Travel, we recommend Elba Palace Golf Boutique Hotel for golfers who value convenience, calm surroundings and personal service. Having the course, clubhouse, practice facilities and post-round dining immediately outside the room removes almost all daily travel. The adults-only atmosphere also makes it particularly suitable for couples and groups seeking a peaceful golf break rather than a busy family resort.

About The Area

Antigua sits in the heart of Fuerteventura, one of the sunniest and most reliable winter golf destinations in Europe. With its volcanic landscapes, Atlantic breezes and relaxed island atmosphere, it provides a dependable year-round base for golfers looking to escape colder climates.

The area is centred around Fuerteventura Golf Club, the island’s flagship championship layout and host of the 2004 Spanish Open. Set against a backdrop of low volcanic hills, the course features wide, inviting fairways but demands precision into water-guarded greens, particularly on the closing stretch. The layout is relatively flat and walkable, making it popular for sociable group trips. Just next door, Salinas de Antigua Golf Club offers a slightly more technical challenge, with tighter driving lines, well-placed bunkers and strong coastal wind influence adding complexity to club selection.

Golf in Antigua is defined by dry, firm conditions and consistent sunshine throughout the year. The Atlantic breeze is often a factor, keeping temperatures comfortable even during warmer months. Winter (October–April) is particularly popular with UK golfers, offering mild daytime temperatures and excellent playing conditions.

Away from the fairways, Antigua retains a quiet Canarian character. The nearby Caleta de Fuste marina offers relaxed waterfront dining and beachside bars, while the island’s long sandy beaches are perfect for post-round walks. Fuerteventura’s natural beauty — from dunes to volcanic terrain — provides scenic excursions, and boat trips along the coast add a leisure element to rest days.

For golfers seeking reliable winter sun, accessible resort golf and a laid-back island atmosphere, Antigua delivers one of the Canary Islands’ most consistent and stress-free golf escapes.
