Hollywood Lakes Golf & Estate is an excellent parkland golf option in North County Dublin, combining a challenging championship layout with lakes, mature woodland and panoramic views towards Dublin and Lambay Island. Located near Ballyboughal, it is particularly convenient for golfers flying into Ireland, with Dublin Airport only around 15–20 minutes away.

Designed by Mel Flanagan, the 18-hole, par-72 course uses its naturally undulating landscape to create a varied test for every handicap. Eleven lakes feature around the property, bringing water regularly into play alongside mature trees and strategically positioned bunkers. Accuracy from the tee is important, but the greens provide another major part of the challenge, rewarding good distance control and careful reading.

The closing hole gives golfers one final test. The par-four 18th demands a controlled drive with water and trees nearby before an approach played across water towards a large, well-protected green. It is a fitting finish to a course where sensible course management can be just as valuable as length.

Practice facilities include a driving range, putting green and three chipping greens, with professional coaching available. Visitors and international golfers are welcomed throughout the year, while the clubhouse bar and café provides food, drinks and views across the 18th green after the round.

We particularly recommend Hollywood Lakes as a first or final round on a Dublin golf holiday. Its airport location also makes it easy to combine with Portmarnock, Jameson Golf Links and other courses around the capital.
